The team behind Storymix Media started in 2006 with the goal of providing Hollywood production quality movies from customer's photos and film/videos. The industry at the time consisted of very high end, expensive custom editiors and lower quality and sophistication mom and pop internet shops.
Using professional level equipment and software by trained experts allowed us to create unique movies with stunning graphics, sophisticated transitions, and dynamic titles. Our focus of highlighting the photo and footage memories while enhancing the visuals through our technical and creative touches resulted in overwhelmingly satisfied customers.
After speaking with legal and music industry representatives, Storymix Media partnered with a Hollywood music production company and several independent music labels for the rights to use their music in our products. We also learned that the business model we created didn't work. So we decided to start a new company focused on creating a new model that would allow us to quickly produce our products for a great price without losing any of the quality one would expect from a custom edited project. By listening to our customers and taken what we'd learned, we began development of Storymix.
During the last five years working with customers, we realized that there is a tremendously under-served market in the photo and film/video memories landscape. First, there are so many places to scan, digitize, preserve, and store media. Then there are a ton of companies who can create slideshows and movies from your media. Of course there are also many different companies trying to sell you software to do it all yourself.
The problem is there is no company with the breadth of products, technical and creative expertise to do it all for you simply and easily for a great price. So we spent over a year developing products to create the easiest solutions possible for any type of project you might have for your memories. We focused all our efforts on stripping everything down to the basics and asking 'What would be useful for the customer?' and 'How can we make it easier for the customer?'. As part of the process we also found ways to simplify our processes and pass the savings to you.
We launched in 2011 focusing on the wedding market to prove our model and see if customers found value in our services. We have been delighted by the response and are now moving into other areas like mitzvahs, sports teams, and personal events.
