What part of wedding planning are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of the fact that we made it uniquely us—we spent time on the really special, personal parts, and didn’t sweat the other stuff! I’m also proud that we saved money with lots of second-hand (including the dress!) and DIY things.

Where did you get married?

We got married at Pinstripes in Washington, DC. It’s a restaurant and bowling alley! Cocktail hour was tons of fun with bowling and bocce.

Why was WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

We really wanted to be able to relive the day over and over again through video, but with our money-saving approach, we weren’t sure we could afford it. When we found WeddingMix, it seemed even better than hiring a professional! We didn’t care about having a fancy professional—even better to be able to relive the day through the eyes of our friends and family.

What special moments do you want to remember your wedding forever?

Every single one. Seriously. In particular, the amazing flash mob our friends and family did for us, the “first look” with my dad and brothers, our first look, all the incredible toasts (and my mom’s rap!), the beautiful ceremony, the awesome dance moves….all of the above.

How did WeddingMix help capture those moments?

We didn’t have time to take in everything, and our friends did a great job capturing all the little things we didn’t get to appreciate. And, we didn’t get to talk to everyone, but our videographers did a GREAT job interviewing tons of guests! It was a great way to make everyone feel like they were part of the day.

I would just tell other brides to savor every minute of the day. I found myself constantly wishing time would SLOW down, but despite my best efforts, it flew by. Watching the video over and over will be the only way to remedy this!
