There were just so many personalized details that made this wedding unique. For example, the bride stunned in a romantically red dress instead of the traditional white. The effect was stunning and memorable!The couple had their ceremony in front of a backdrop that displayed their vows. While the dress and decor really made this wedding one to remember, perhaps the most epic part of the ceremony was when the officiant decreed: “Now go forth as husband and wife and be awesome.” Love it!

In the words of the bride: “It’s the little things that stand out. I remember Mitch bawling through the whole ceremony, but I had forgotten that in the middle of our first kiss, I paused and said “you are damp!” and he replied, “I’ve been crying!” We laughed and went right back to the kissing, much to the chagrin of the flower girl. The bliss, the tears and the laughter in that moment sum up the day.”

Based on the perfectly unique details featured in this wedding, it’s no wonder the bride and groom are crafty by their professions!

“I am a designer and Mitch is a maker, so naturally we DIY’d our wedding to the extreme,” said beautiful bride, Elisa, “The most prominent project was a scroll/runner hand painted with early conversations and love letters exchanged when we were living 3000 miles apart…Leave it to a designer to drag in their own temporary furniture and props, and a frugal maker to keep them forever.”

Other amazing DIY wedding ideas ranged from stationery and suspenders to giant Jenga and activity books.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests were ready to party at their gorgeously lit reception. From scrumptious looking cakes to seriously thoughtful advice from loved ones, you can really feel all the fun and joy present during this wedding party! As for the couple’s romantic first dance, you can definitely see that Elisa and Mitch are on their way to being a totally awesome husband and wife 🙂

In retrospect of her wedding, the bride offered these final thoughts: “Our photographer told us that after your wedding you are left with two things: your spouse and your photographs. In retrospect, he was absolutely right. Documenting our wedding through him and through WeddingMix was worth every dime. The memories fade so fast, and both mediums bring us back every time.”
