Sarah + Jamie | The Kiss Before the Kiss at Vancouver Wedding
Today we are joined by guest blogger bride, Sarah, as she tells us about her September wedding in Vancouver.
Our wedding was held at Stanley Park Pavilion in Vancouver, BC. We were lucky enough to have almost two years to plan our day AND were lucky to have the help of our wedding planner from Filosophi Event + Design, Corinne Colledge.
Our wedding was the best day ever. We were going for a very laid back but classy vibe. It was great to have the cameras beforehand. As a day of gift, I got my husband to be a particular edition of a fender strata caster that he has wanted for years. The entire moment was captured on storymix cameras which was great as I couldn’t be there to see it first hand. We had the same luck with my day of gift. I was brought a beautiful diamond bracelet as a gift from my fiance and again, we got it on video.
Our ceremony was hilarious. The officiant, Marilyn Knipp, is such a stellar lady. She was funny and added just the right amount of “seriousness” without bringing the light mood down.
Our reception was the highlight. We hired a local house band of a popular night club and they ROCKED. I don’t think I sat down ONCE after dinner – along with everyone else.
Another highlight was our cake. My husband and I are skier/snowboarders so we had little figurines made to look like us. They sat on the top of a cake that was half traditional cake, and half a super steep ski hill drop. People were just in awe of it – in fact, we have quite the video but good friends of ours getting a sneak peak before the party. Hands down, it was the best day ever and we just had such an epic time. LOVE.
Editor’s note: I kind of fell in love with Sarah and Jamie during the cake cutting. đŸ™‚ On a side note, we’re also really excited because Sarah’s video is the debut of our new chalkboard theme designed by former Storymix bride, Holly Casto of Hollywould Press. How do you like it?
