Breathtaking Autumn Aquarium Wedding in Burlington | Meredith + Josh
With a love story that was sweet as a magnolia cupcake, Meredith and Josh tied the knot at the Echo Lake Aquarium in Burlington, VT this past September. Not only did the couple throw an awesome DIY bash full friends and family, their loved ones used the WeddingMix app and HD cameras to capture the most candid, emotional moments for their special wedding video!

Details from bride, Meredith:
We met through friends (aka at a party) freshman year of college. My friends accidentally (or maybe not-so-accidentally) left the party without me and Josh offered to walk me back to my dorm. He was such a gentleman and we had lots in common but I wasn’t looking for a relationship. Persistence pays off, because after bugging me for a while we went on a first date, and a second date, and a third date…
We picked out my engagement ring together so I knew the engagement was coming but I didn’t know exactly when. He made me drop my bags and coat right after I got home from work one day and ushered me to our dining room table, where he had Magnolia cupcakes that spelled out “Will you marry me?” red roses, and champagne waiting.
I’m most proud of the fact that Josh and I only picked a few things we felt really strongly about and were very flexible (aka, chose less expensive/easier options) for everything else. I’m also so happy that we created all of the decor ourselves. It was frugal and totally represented what we wanted, from our succulent centerpieces to hand-drawn signs.
Why was WeddingMix an appealing way to get your unique wedding video?
We wanted video! We loved that WeddingMix was reasonably priced and that our friends and family would be in control of what was captured. We also liked that our rehearsal dinner the night before was able to be caught on film.
Every moment was incredible – from walking down the aisle to enjoying our delicious food to dancing the night away. The most incredible part was having loved ones from every era of our lives in the same room – friends from elementary school, beloved aunts and uncles, cousins, and best friends. The feeling was astounding
WeddingMix helped us capture those moments because it left the task of taking video up to our guests – we liked that we didn’t know what people would want to “catch” on camera!
Describe your wedding in one word:
Love! Ugh, I know, that’s super cheesy. But it’s the word I think of for many reasons when I look back.
On final tip for future brides:
The best advice I got (among a lot of not-so-helpful advice) was not to drink at the wedding because it can make the experience go faster. I tasted the signature cocktails we worked so hard at developing but that was it!
