From Jennifer:
We were married on September 28, 2013 at Liberty Mountain Resort in Carroll Valley, PA.
The part of our wedding planning that we are most proud of is that we were able to do most of it ourselves. So much of our wedding was very personal and unique to us, like the photos included in the bridal bouquet of deceased loved ones and the signs we had lining the walkway for our guests that told the story of what brought us all together. Every detail of the wedding had a personal meaning for us and that is what ultimately made our day so special.
Why did they choose the WeddingMix app + HD cams?
Because we were funding the wedding ourselves, we had initially decided against having any kind of wedding video. The more we read online and talked with friends, we discovered that this was something many people regretted not having. We did some research and found WeddingMix. We were drawn to it not only because it was so affordable, but because it still allowed us to have that personal touch that was present in every other aspect of the wedding.
We chose a few close friends and went over some of the moments we wanted to be sure they captured, and then left the rest up to them! We were very pleased with the outcome. My husband spent days going through all of the clips to edit and compile them in a way that told the story of our special day just perfectly.
There were several moments that a professional videographer may have cut from the final edit, like the pair of geese flying overhead during our vows, or the flower girl high-fiving the father-of-the-bride during the recessional, but these were moments we wanted to remember and were able to incorporate into our video. Our guest/videographers were also able to capture details of the handmade decorations and personal touches that made our wedding unique.
We loved having the option to either pick the scenes ourselves or allow WeddingMix to do it for us. We were very hands-on with the wedding and wanted to do the same with the video. By picking the scenes ourselves, we were able to keep these memorable moments and get a bit creative with adding titles and transitions. Then we worked with the WeddingMix team to incorporate the background music and put the final touches on our “perfectly-imperfect” video.
The WeddingMix app and camera package was the perfect combination for us. We love that there are so many professional features you can add while keeping that personal touch at the same time.
