Magical Wedding In Liberty Hill
Bride Amanda tied the knot with her husband in an unforgettable wedding celebration! Their celebration was full of love, laughter and memories that will last forever!
1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?
I’m proud that we managed to make our wedding go more or less as imagined. And I’m incredibly proud of my friends and family for stepping in and helping out when the details got overwhelming.
2. Where did you get married?
We got married at Casa Rio de Colores in Liberty Hill, Texas. It was initially the home of the owner of Lucy in Disguise, a local costume shop. The aesthetic transcends mere camp and achieves a sort of sense-bending kitsch satori.
3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?
I actually discovered WeddingMix through the highlight video of another couple that got married at our venue. The aesthetic of the highlight video immediately reassured me about my choice of venue, and I decided, why not try the app as well?
To get an idea of what this incredible celebration was like, check out this highlight video with some special moments from this couple’s wedding day!
This video was filmed by friends and family of the bride and groom using the WeddingMix App and cameras.
4.What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?
Most of the special moments I want to capture are para-ceremony moments: Erica broom-dancing to chiptunes DJ’d by Ian; Jeff DJing a fantastic funk set; the insanely good klezmer band that forced us into impromptu klezmer dancing; Kevin and Blaine improvising on the keyboard; Ian Rickrolling me and playing Rebecca Black’s “Friday” on the ukulele at a taco shop; our priest Eric playing us Bright Eyes at the same taco shop; Danica and John bonding with their tiny wooden anteater wedding favors; maybe a snatch of the guests crowding in for a group photo of absolutely everyone, or my uncle skipping around with a string of LEDs snaked over his shoulders … I would also like to have a record of the ceremony, of course! Especially Doug sobbing so hard he almost couldn’t give his reading, and everyone hollering when Don and I finally kissed.
5. How did WeddingMix help capture those moments?
WeddingMix helped us record all of the wonderful little things that weren’t the ceremony. I only wish we’d recorded more of them. There are other moments, so many other moments, that didn’t get recorded. Not one but two of my friends revealed themselves as expert seamstresses: the first altered my dress a month before the ceremony into a gorgeous tiered skirt; the second draped the skirt an hour before the ceremony into showy asymmetry. I definitely wish we’d filmed those transformations. And then there’s the adventure of the rehearsal dinner. One member of the wedding party got stuck in the bathroom of his Airstream trailer and had to escape through the window. As soon as he got out, he told me that another member of the wedding party was stranded at the airport, and we piled in my car to rescue her, returning in triumph to the venue at two in the morning. Anyway, if you do WeddingMix: get someone to record video of everything even remotely related to your wedding.
