In planning our wedding I got to use my graphic design background and have since started a wedding invitation business, Something Designed LLC. I was very excited to design our invitation set as well as programs, place cards, guest book, etc. I am most proud of the fact that I did a lot of trade-outs with my wedding vendors. I would design marketing materials in exchange for services from vendors. It was one way I could include additional things in our wedding that I would not have been able to afford otherwise. I also loved working with all my vendors in this capacity. It made our wedding day even more special to have furthered relationships with the professionals there.
We got married at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, MN.
I wasn’t sure if we would use a videographer service in the beginning but after finding WeddingMix I felt I found the perfect solution.
My favorite part of any wedding was the toasts and I felt that those speeches were aspect that pictures alone can not capture. I wanted to be able to listen to the wonderful words my fathers, sister, best men, and most importantly my husband said for years to come. I also loved being able to see things that I missed completely such as my father-in-law and his brother singing during the reception.
The most special moments of our wedding day includes our first look as this was the most private moments my husband and I had that day. It was incredibly special and set an amazing tone for how the day would follow. I also loved our first dance which was “Kiss Me” by Ed Sheeran. I was thrilled to have video of this, as my husband and I really were just focusing on each other. It was great to see what was happening around us as we later heard about special interactions between the families, such as my sister crying and my father in law coming over to comfort her. Our wedding party was extremely important to our wedding day as well and I was also excited to see pictures and video that our wedding party took of themselves to see how much fun they were having. Our biggest goal was to put on a great party.
Our wedding in one word would be celebration. We had an amazing day being with our friends and family. It was all about having fun and enjoying the day. We loved every minute of it and couldn’t be happier that we have video memories of our wedding to view for years to come.
