Tell us what part of your wedding planning you are most proud of.
I’m most proud of keeping calm during my wedding planning. I had quite a few ups and downs, as everyone does, but I never lost sight of why I was going through the craziness of planning. No matter what was not going perfectly, it didn’t matter: my guests would never know what went wrong, and at the end of the day, I would be married to the love of my life.
Where did you get married?
We were married in Joliet, IL, about 40 miles south of Chicago. The ceremony was at the historic St. Joseph Church and the reception took place at The Union Station Grand Ballroom, both in Joliet.
Tell us why using the WeddingMix app was appealing for your big day?
I really wanted to capture moments that, down the line, I may forget or that I was too busy to be a part of. I didn’t want to hire a videographer (due to cost, and frankly, annoyance), but I wanted a wedding video. WeddingMix was the perfect solution!
What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?
I want to remember seeing my groom down the aisle as I walked towards him, the kiss that sealed our promise, and the best man and maid of honor speeches. There are so many awesome things that took place, but I never want to forget those moments and how we felt when they were happening.
How did WeddingMix help capture those moments?
WeddingMix helped capture those moments by giving permission for our guests to take videos and pictures! Some couples prefer an unplugged wedding, and I respect that. But after hearing the same things from brides over and over again: that the day would go by so fast, that everything will be a blur, that you won’t even remember who you talked to, I knew I wanted a way to be connected to my guests.
WeddingMix gave my guests the chance to be involved in the wedding; they weren’t just taking pictures to delete later. They were taking pictures and videos to help the bride and groom remember.
Describe your wedding in one word.
