Joyful June Wedding in Minnesota | Lindsay + Adam
“Hey Lindsay, where’re you going?”
“To get muuurrrried!”
That pretty much sums up the ultra-fun vibe of Lindsay and Adam’s gorgeous June wedding in Minnesota! Check out their priceless wedding highlights video and read some of Lindsay’s invaluable post-wedding tips.
Adam an I were married at Grace Lutheran Church in Andover, Minnesota and held our reception at The Links at Northfork, a golf course in Ramsey, Minnesota.
I’m most proud of how (mostly) low-stress it was! My husband may disagree! Ha ☺ We had an 18 month engagement, so it was easy to spread things out during the planning process to not feel overwhelmed. Obviously, the weeks leading up to our wedding brought on more stress, but overall, I really enjoyed our wedding planning experience. Now, with that being said, I don’t think I’d like to do it again! Low stress definitely does not mean inexpensive or time consuming! ☺
My absolute favorite part of our wedding day was probably the moments my husband and I shared during our “first look”. It was so good to see him after spending the morning getting ready and making sure everything was going off without a hitch (note to brides, hire a “day-of wedding coordinator! My mom, sisters, and bridesmaids were wonderful about making sure I didn’t have to “take care of anything” on the day of our wedding, but it’s inevitable that people will come to you for things, it would have been nice to direct them to a coordinator.)
I LOVED seeing him all dressed up in his tux and getting to spend a few quiet moments with just him (and the photographer) before the chaos of the day continued. Plus, he totally cried when he saw me and doesn’t EVERY bride want that reaction!? ☺
Why They Chose WeddingMix for their wedding video
I REALLY wanted a way to document our wedding day in more than just photos. While our photographer was amazing, there is still something to be said about video. “Traditional” videographers are just SO expensive, we would have had to cut other things from our budget in order to hire one. When a friend told me about WeddingMix, I was very intrigued, but I still wasn’t sold on it.
My friend, who happens to be a blogger, ended up hosting a giveaway to win an experience with WeddingMix and I WON! I was shocked – I never win anything! It was so much fun to be able to document everything from my bridal showers and bachelorette party to our wedding day itself.
WeddingMix captured all of those fun little moments that you forget about or that you weren’t present for when they took place. Like when one of my Maids of Honor (my little sister) caught the bouquet and went wild and chest bumped a kid on the dance floor – HILARIOUS and yet I had totally forgotten about it until I got to review our video. It still makes me laugh every time I see it. ☺
Final thoughts from the bride
For couples who are considering using WeddingMix – DO IT! It’s so affordable versus the traditional videographers. A word to the wise though, have a “plan” for your cameras. We thought the “record and pass to another guest” approach would be fun to see our wedding from multiple points of view.. and we did get some fun video, but we got A TON of video where children at our wedding had ended up with the camera and we got a lot of video of the floor or of the kids parents. Ha!
Make sure you have designated recorders at your wedding and make sure you delegate what you specifically want them to capture. I am SO thankful that I asked a friend to get certain special moments so we could relive them… but you do forget about things, or your recorders do. For instance, my parent’s opening speech/toasts were cut off when whoever was recording stopped the camera. That’s sad.. but like I said, I think as long as you give designated recorders clear direction about what you want… it’s perfect!
