Real Wedding | Shelley + Shaun at the Manor in Toronto
Shelley and Shaun were so excited to share the details of their big day. So, today’s post is written by the gorgeous bride:
We were married in Toronto, Canada. The wedding was hosted at a venue that allowed for an outdoor ceremony , hor deavre hour under a giant white tent, and a dinner/dance reception indoors in the grand Elizabeth Hall. The venue was called The Manor, located in Kettleby Ontario, about 40min from Toronto.
I knew I wanted to have an outdoor ceremony and The Manor provided the perfect venue for our 300 guests.
For our honeymoon, my husband and I both knew we wanted to go to Santorini in Greece. But we added a few other stops to make in our fantasy honeymoon. We went to Greece, Santorini first, then Crete, then Athens. We also spent 1 week in Istanbul in Turkey.
For my wedding I wanted to have personal touches through out, but we also had such amazing support from our friends and family.
Andrew – A good friend of the family made my wedding programs and bubble labels.
Kiren – Our brother-in-law is a professional DJ and kept the dance floor full all night long.
Andre- a good friend and local artist painted our welcome photo
Molly- a close friend baked the bombomair wedding cookies
Both mom’s baked traditional west Indian black cake for the guest cake boxes
Jessy – my aunt and professional baker made my wedding cake
our sisters and closest friends and family were in our bridal party
The wedding was an Islamic ceremony, so the beginning was the religious part, followed by the ring ceremony and finally the paper signing to make it all official.
My great uncle from London England, Rahmat, did us the honour of signing a song of congratulations in Arabic called Ameen Mubarak Ameen. He has a beautiful voice so we were honoured to have him involved.
For our ceremony wedding entrance, a cousin Aliya sang our entrance song, Kelly Clarkson, A Moment Like This. For the wedding reception our cousin Alexah song our first dance song , At Last by Etta James. We are truly blessed to have such amazing and talented people surrounding us and willing and eager to share their gifts to make our wedding day just perfect.
Editor’s note: Did you see the toast that Shaun gave to his beautiful bride Shelley??? This is what made me cry while editing their video. What a beautiful memory!
