Hennepin Avenue Church Wedding Video in Minneapolis | Megan + Mike
Let’s see, we’ve got the groom’s adorable video message to his bride right before the wedding, a heartfelt speech from the Father-of-the-bride, and a hilarious parody of “Sweet Carolina” sung by the bride’s sister. Top it all off with a gorgeous church and even gorgeous-er couple — you can tell that Megan and Mike’s wedding video in Minneapolis has got it going on!
This post is in honor of Megan and Mike’s almost-one year anniversary! Read Megan’s post-wedding reflections on her big, beautiful Minnesota wedding to get a taste of what a classic wedding with a modern twist is really like.
The wedding is over… and I am surprisingly sad and disappointed. Even up to Thursday before the wedding I was so ready for it to be over and to be on our honeymoon. Of course, now my feelings have completely changed. Yes, wedding planning is stressful and time consuming! But, you are planning what will be the best day of your life. You will not realize it until it is happening or even until it is over but this day marks the first day of the rest of your life as husband and wife. You are officially an adult and seen differently by family, friends, and strangers.
Immediately, my mom went from calling me Meggie to my married name… weird. In all seriousness, if you would have asked me before the wedding then I would have told you to not have a big wedding. Now, I will tell you DO IT!!! It is so much fun to see your creativity and hard work put into action. It may not be what you had been dreaming about all of your life with the huge princess dress but in your eyes the day will be perfection. Not everything will go as planned, you will forget something, and something else will go wrong but just enjoy every minute of the experience. Trust me, I forgot to pick up my table linens and didn’t realize it until Saturday morning. There were also not enough seats at my mom’s table and they had to add a place setting for my mom. You may not know about everything that goes wrong at the time and even if you do just go with the flow.
We were so lucky to have 200 of our wonderful family and friends join us for the occasion. I can honestly not say enough great things about all of our vendors! From our caterer (Lettuce Caterer) to our florist (Munster Rose) to our band (Sevilles) to our photographer (Camelot Photography) it was absolutely perfect. I cannot forget to mention the wonderful day of planner we hired from Simply Elegant Bridal. At first, I didn’t feel that we needed a day of planner and was sort of against the idea. We did not actually officially hire one until our final meetings three weeks out. Well, I am happy to say that I was completely wrong! It was the best money we spent. She made sure that every vendor was in place and doing what they needed to do, she setup the décor just how I had asked, kept us on our timeline, and best of all she cleaned up everything and took it home so we didn’t have to worry about it at the end of the night.
Our wedding was everything that we wanted it to be. It was classic with modern elements. It was emotional and fun. It was truly our perfect day. We are now looking forward to seeing all of the videos our friends and family took on the flip cameras and on their own devices. I am hoping and have been promised by friends and family that our ceremony, my dad’s toast, best man’s speech, and we can’t forget the song my sister sang to us will be on video. I can’t want to help WeddingMix put them together and get to relive our perfect day again.
