Tell us what part of your wedding planning you are most proud of.

I (the bride) am a notorious procrastinator, so we are especially proud that we planned out our wedding in advance – booking vendors more than a year before the date, putting together decorations and stationary well in advance, and shopping for outfits and accessories throughout the year.

Where did you get married?
The ceremony was at the bride’s mother’s church, Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church in Montrose, CA and the reception was at the La Canada Flintridge Country Club.

Why was using the WeddingMix app was appealing for your big day?

We were on a budget and could not justify spending thousands of dollars on a service when there was a perfectly fine alternative in WeddingMix. We liked the intimacy and unique perspective of the individual cameras as seen through the eyes of our guests and bridal party.

What special moments from your wedding do you want to remember forever?
We want to remember our intimate and emotional ceremony – every moment of it. We especially want to remember the overwhelming feeling of blessing and love from our family and friends the moment we stepped into the church and when we heard the beautiful and funny toasts from our loved ones.

How did WeddingMix help capture those moments?

WeddingMix captured our whole walk down the aisle, the entire ceremony, and the important parts of our reception. WeddingMix got all of the speeches and captured the fun and emotional essence of our wedding day. We assigned college-age cousins with shot lists to make sure that every important detail was captured. It was like a video scavenger hunt for them!

We liked the control we had over the editing of our footage. It took some time, but it was worth it to see every minute of our wedding day and piece together the parts we wanted. We have friends who complained about their professionally shot wedding videos that only gave them highlights and did not have for example, the whole ceremony, in their video. Even though the quality of our video can’t compare to professional grade… we love it because the people we love shot it and we’re more than thrilled with the capture of all the memories and special moments. What separates this from just a homemade video is the extra touches that WeddingMix puts with the title screen, transitions, music and other editing that ends up making the homemade into professional-made.
