1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

We are so proud of how the whole day went, but if we had to pick one specific thing, we would have to say how personalized we were able to make our day to feature special details, moments and interests into the little details of our wedding. For instance, we met while working together at our local movie theatre. This inspired us to select The Eglinton Grand, which was formerly a Toronto movie theatre, with quite the reputation. It has wince then become a Historical Landmark and been redesigned into an event venue perfect for weddings like ours. We further personalized our day by having one of the priests we had come to know so well through our marriage preparation course, from our parish and through faith worship to celebrate our sacrament of matrimony at a church that means so much to us. We also tied in our love of movies into so many little things, such as our movie posters outside the venue, our beauty and the beast inspired groom’s attire and colour themes, as well as our Marauder’s Map guestbook because we certainly consider ourselves Potterheads.

 2. Where did you get married?

We got married in Toronto, Canada. Our mass ceremony was celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Scaborough. We took our photos at Edwards Gardens in Toronto. Our reception was at The Eglinton Grand. Being born and raised in Scarborough it was important to celebrate our ceremony locally and our reception at the old theatre was truly a nod to how we both first met, became friends and began our relationship.

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

After hearing about Wedding Mix while watching one of our favourite talk shows, The Social, we knew that using technology was a natural fit for us, as we already incorporated the use of The Knot website to send our Save the Date website to our guests. The idea of our guests being able to capture our special day from their perspective and candidly was definitely appealing. We didn’t want to feel like there was paparazzi following us on top of our two photographers, so we love that our family and friends were able to capture the special moments we requested and wanted to immerse ourselves in all over again.

4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?

We love that our guests were able to upload the little things that we may have missed during the day. Those special glances, pure emotion and candid moments. We definitely got some crazy moments from the dance floor, which will be hilarious to watch over and over again in the future. We love the little interview questions that some guests were ale to answer and share their personal advice and some jokes as well.

6. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

Research! Research! Research! It is always best to contact and network with as many vendors as possible. Of course, consulting friends and family is always a bonus, but this way you also get to meet a variety of company and entrepreneurs who are incredible at what they do. It is amazing to say that we have vendors we worked with that we would now be fortunate enough to call friends now.

Corey: Incredible!
