Advice from the bride and groom!

1. What part of your wedding planning are you most proud of?

Our wedding was a blend of different cultures, traditions and religions. It was difficult to plan a wedding trying to balance the traditions and still have components of the wedding be true to our personalities. We had a traditional Indian ceremony as well as an american style wedding with a justice of the peace.

The wedding was a blend of our two personalities as well as our families. Our high guest count of 400 people did not make it any easier to plan as well as we tried to cater to everyone’s needs. Organization was key in allowing us to get the day we wanted. We were able to get through difficult decisions(such as ceremony structure, music) as well as unexpected changes (unkind weather), because we were so organized.

2. Where did you get married?

Our wedding had 2 full days of activities. The first being a “Welcome Dinner”. With a large number of guests visiting from out of country we decided to have a casual/fun outdoor games party at The International in Bolton, MA. This venue overlooks the golf course and it’s beautiful scenery. We had all sorts of outdoor games such as cornhole, spikeball, ladder ball and many more kid friendly games such as even a scavenger hunt.

Our wedding day was in Wrentham, MA. The venue was one of the few that was able to accommodate our high guest count. The venue had a beach area overlooking the lake that we were supposed to have our ceremony, but unfortunately the weather was not very kind that day. The ceremonies were done inside a tent, which actually turned out a lot better then we expected.

3. Why was using WeddingMix appealing for your big day?

We have seen wedding videos of our friends and family, and loved the idea of having a video of our own to watch many years in the future. Just something to show our future family generations and give them a glimpse into our personalities at that point in our lives.

A video tells a story that pictures can not. We did not like the idea of having a videographer as we wanted to keep our number of vendors to a minimum. We felt like a videographer would just get in the way. WeddingMix also kept our photos/videos organized and was very user friendly.

4. What were the most important moments that WeddingMix was able to capture on your special day?

5. What is your top wedding budget tip(s)?

Since we had a large wedding we really wanted to cut down costs from certain places where we could without sacrificing anything.

-Having WeddingMix was definitely much more affordable then having a videographer. At first we weren’t sure if we would get the quality videos of the moments we wanted. But being proactive in having our guests aware of us using WeddingMix and asking them to upload the videos after the wedding allowed us to get more quality videos then we could imagine.

-We were looking for a little more elaborate of a laser cut wedding invitation, and we saved a lot of money by getting our invitations from a manufacturer in China from Alibaba! I thought it would be hard to work with someone from China, but it was one of the smoothest transactions I have done.

-The biggest saver is to not invite so many people. Cut down people who are not fun.
